The Houssian Foundation is dedicated to creating lasting impact by supporting organizations that focus on climate solutions, gender justice, and resilient communities.
Through multi-year operating grants and a 100% mission-aligned investment portfolio, the Foundation fosters collaborative approaches to environmental protection, empowers interconnected feminist movements, and strengthens community-based organizations serving vulnerable populations.

How We Grant
Rooted in trust-based philanthropy, we prioritize multi-year general operating funds to provide organizations the flexibility to drive meaningful change.
Our two-part grantmaking process begins with an invitation to submit a Letter of Inquiry (LOI), followed by an application, ensuring maximum impact while reducing the burdens of applications and reporting.

Granting Open Call
The Daylight Fund, a pilot initiative within the Houssian Foundation’s gender justice portfolio, addresses urgent safety needs for women, trans, and gender non-binary individuals across Canada. With a total allocation of $500,000, the Fund supports projects, initiatives, or operating costs focused on gender-based safety, prioritizing smaller communities.

Meet Our Grantees
Our partners are a vital part of making meaningful change in our communities. Over the past several years, we have awarded over 90 multi-year grants, helping to support over 40 grantee partners across Canada.
